HANDS-ON GROOMING TRAINING

CERTIFIED FAST TRACK GROOMING COURSE:  Beginners, this is the course for you!  It includes an in-depth pre-learning program for you to work on prior to arriving on campus for maximum educational benefit. Because the pre-learning portion offers so much information, it takes an average of 8 weeks of home-study to complete entirely. Lots of information! Then, it's off to learn the hands-on portion at our beautiful, modern campus in Montana!

This intense and fun three-week hands-on portion of the course reinforces the info in the pre-learning:  Breed recognition and breed standards of all AKC recognized breeds, all-inclusive instructional grooming techniques for these AKC breeds as well as mixed breeds,  animal handling and behavior, first aid, CPR, and emergency care, parasites, nutrition, vaccinations, record keeping, environmental management, detection of abnormalities, customer service, creating an upscale facility, shop design, staff safety, caring for other companion animals, and the list goes on and on!

Students will have classroom study, homework, and hands-on grooming labs for this course, including bathing, drying, prepping, and of course the actual breed and mixed-breed techniques.  And, this course includes our business course too!  It covers all the bases!

The students are exposed to many different breeds here at MSPDG, for maximum learning!  And, there’s more...

Certification!   Graduate from this course as a Certified Pet Care Technician through the Pet Care Services Association (formerly the ABKA)!  Graduates of this course will be able to use the prestigious title of PCSA’s Certified Pet Care Technician! 

All of this for only $4995, plus equipment (see below)!

Oh, and one more thing...graduates are welcome to return to the campus to sit in on future classes at any time, AT NO CHARGE!  They are welcome to come for a day, a week, or all three weeks of any scheduled session!  Have you seen any other school extend that kind of offer???  Didn’t think so!

EQUIPMENT PACKAGE

Enrolled students obviously need grooming tools and equipment to learn this wonderful career.  We recently upgraded our already-extensive student package to also include a Clipper Vac! 

This incredible piece of equipment actually vacuums up the hair as it is clipped.  Amazing!  (Trisha is using one on the Poodle puppy, in the picture on the right.)  You can see the hose that is on top of the clipper, that sucks away the hair.  Very cool!  This piece of equipment increases a groomer’s productivity by an average of 3 dogs per day, which is why we include one in the equipment package!

The cost of the basic equipment package is $1500 (this price may fluctuate slightly due to supplier pricing).  The recommended items include the Clipper Vac mentioned above, 2 sets of clippers, several necessary blades, a complete set of high-quality professional shears, brushes, combs, nail trimmers, various useful hand-tools, a school uniform, and the list goes on and on.   

We also include premium equipment recommendations in this list as well, bathing systems, blow dryers, etc.  These premium items are not required, however, and students will have the opportunity to use them on campus as well.

Upon enrollment, we provide the item numbers and the supplier contact information, and the students purchase items direct.  This way, students can establish a relationship with industry suppliers, and save money as there is no "middle man" markup.   The student purchases the items directly from the suppliers!
